Hi, I am back! Everything is going well so far, but it seems like we are going a mile a minute to review before FCAT.
FCAT is next week, starting Tuesday. Please be at school Tues, Wed, Thursday and the following Monday and Tuesday on time! Please have a good breakfast, preferably protein. No coffee or excess sugar before school. Parents, please encourage students, do not add to the stress. Celebrate getting through the test, even if your child does not feel confident about his performance. We will do great. Let's have a big celebration maybe on the 20th?
5th graders, review your science notecards and the summaries of the chapters if you want to review science.
Everyone, here are some math terms to review: factors, multiples, polygons, regular and irregular polygons, acute and obese, isosceles and scalene, quadrilaterals, prime number (only made by multiplying 1 x itself), composite number (every number that is not a prime number), range, median, mode, area, perimeter.
This is a new GREEN house in the 9th ward where Katrina demolished all the houses. This is one of Brad Pitt's projects. The 9th ward is still falling apart, a lot of it is abandoned and most of the houses still have spray painted doors from the searches after Katrina.
Here are some of the student samples we shared with all the teachers during our presentation. They were amazed by the quality of our students' poems.
This is Ms. Fitz and Ms. Steffani presenting poetry to the teachers at the National Montessori Conference.
